G&H Technical Services Ltd is a UKAS accredited asphalt, soils, aggregate & bituminous materials testing company based in Sittingbourne, Kent. Trading since 2000, we have over 30 years' experience in our field.

As a materials testing company we specialise in monitoring, recording, sampling and testing of materials being placed within construction and carriageway sites. Our staff are experienced in testing from formation level and fill materials, through to subbase, bituminous layers and the finished surface course. Our portfolio is very varied where we can be assisting on projects from a new build housing estate, to airfields, major highway repairs, or resurfacing works on major trunk roads and motorways.

Predominantly, our role commonly lies within road building or resurfacing works, where we test, take samples and monitor laying operations during the construction and maintenance phase. We offer UKAS accredited testing on many different types of surfaces and can undertake surveys on existing substrates, roads, highways, pavements and brownfield or greenfield sites. Geographically, we have worked on sites in Highways Areas 2 through 9 and the Isle of Wight.

Our UKAS schedule of accreditation (#8540) includes testing such as surface regularity surveys, sand & macro texture depths, asphalt in-situ density surveys, temperature monitoring, asphalt sampling, plate bearings (estimation of CBR value), in-situ density of soils & aggregates, dynamic cone penetrometer testing (DCPs) and coring. Core logging and descriptions on asphalt and concrete cores, are undertaken back at our lab by our in-house team. We can also carry out moisture contents, core density, maximum density of bituminous materials, air void content & percentage refusal density (PRD) testing.
